Reaching for a pill was never the first response - my family typically sought hot lemon drinks for a cold, natural plant based remedies, osteopaths and acupuncturists - modalities that honoured the body's innate wisdom. This wasn't "alternative" to me - it was just how we lived.
As I grew, I deepened my own practice. I studied Swedish massage in my twenties, and started courses on nutrition in my forties after years of IVF left me craving a path back to vitality. I use essential oils daily - specific scents to energise, others to ground and soothe. I've studied feng shui because I can sense when a space is out of harmony, when the energy needs recalibrating.
I considered both massage and nutrition as careers, but I knew in my heart I was meant to continue as a designer - offering healing and balance through my own craft.
Because that's what good design does, isn't it? It creates harmony. It clears the noise. It helps people feel seen and safe enough to step into transformation.
This is why I'm naturally drawn to working with health and wellness practitioners. You hold space for people's most vulnerable moments. You guide them back to themselves. That deserves a brand as intentional and nurturing as the work you do.
